MARLTON, NJ (July 25, 2003) WorldScape Defense Company, LLC signed a blanket purchase order for five million dollars as a pre-selected subcontractor on the Lockheed Martin CECOM Rapid Response (CR2) Team. Under this $23 billion dollar program, Lockheed Martin is one of the eight prime contractors approved for this indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, with Lockheed Martin’s anticipated value to be on the order of $2.9 billion over an eight year period. "The CR2 business opportunities for WorldScape Defense are numerous and varied allowing direct support of multiple services and government agencies using this rapid response contracting vehicle. From providing IT solutions to advanced technology demonstrations, product development and hardware procurement, our defense and program management experience allow us to support our military and other government agencies with an efficient alternative to traditional procurements," says Paul Glazar, President of WorldScape Defense. The CECOM CR2 program is designed to provide a contracting vehicle that expedites industry proposals in seven days and awards task orders within nineteen days of the solicitation release. The blanket purchase orders provide the mechanism for the subcontracting teams to immediately begin work. "Our team knew this would be an excellent opportunity to leverage our talents and resources while expanding our relationships with our government customer base. Lockheed Martin and WorldScape Defense continue to expand their working relationship on key national defense programs while also continuing to invest in critical next generation technologies that will enable future combat systems. Our program performance track record and expanding capabilities will more than likely enhance this initial award value," said Peter Rogina, President and CEO of WorldScape, Inc. WorldScape Defense, headquartered in Marlton, New Jersey, provides a broad spectrum of products and services covering massively parallel computing technologies, technology development through field implementation, military operations training and simulation, acquisition and contracting, as well as overall program management.
