WorldScape Defense Awarded $399K Increase on $1.35M Contract from the Office of Naval Research

Marlton, NJ (September 5, 2003) - WorldScape Defense Company, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of WorldScape Inc., was awarded a $399,900 increase to the recently signed Phase II contract by the Office of Naval Research (ONR). The contract increases the scope of work for the current "Advanced Telepresence Thru Immersive Imaging-SceneServer" (ATTISS) contract. This modification to the second phase contract brings the total amount of funding for this program to almost $3 million for WorldScape Defense.

Paul Glazar, president of WorldScape Defense commented, "This is further validation of the value of the WorldScape technology for various embedded processing applications." WorldScape Defense is working with ONR to investigate, validate and benchmark high-performance processing algorithms and architectures, and to provide sensor array technology and immersive image processing technology.

The goal of the ATTISS program is to provide a basis for evaluating and meeting the demanding data processing and display requirements for numerous Navy programs. In addition, the company’s Single Instruction Multi-Threaded Array Processing (SIMTAP™) technology provides the computing engine for WorldScape’s SceneServer immersive visualization systems.

One of the main areas of work in this phase is in the area of embedded radar processing on small airborne platforms. "The technology applies just as well for larger signal processing systems, but the extremely low power dissipation and size makes it a leading candidate for small portable platforms" said Peter Rogina, President of parent company WorldScape Inc. The WorldScape technology has applications in other Navy and DOD initiatives such as real-time sensor processing, compression/de-compression, encryption/decryption, missile defense systems, future UAV systems, facial recognition, and homeland defense.

WorldScape Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, WorldScape Defense Company, LLC are developing and deploying real world immersive imaging solutions and underlying massively parallel technology. WorldScape Defense is located in Marlton, New Jersey.
