WorldScape Defense Awarded $1.35 Million ATTISS Phase II Contract from the Office of Naval Research
Marlton, NJ (July 23, 2003) - WorldScape Defense Company, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of WorldScape Inc., was awarded a $1.35 million dollar contract by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) for continued efforts under the “Advanced Telepresence Thru Immersive Imaging-SceneServer” (ATTISS) contract. This second phase contract brings the total amount of funding for this program to over $2.5 million for WorldScape Defense. WorldScape Defense is engaged with ONR to investigate, validate and benchmark high-performance processing algorithms and architectures, and to provide sensor array technology and immersive imaging demonstrations. “The ability to process data collected from large sensor arrays is an essential component in many current and future Navy programs. The underlying WorldScape technology has been shown to deliver orders of magnitude more processing power than competing products within small, scalable, and low-power packages. This is very important across a wide range of application areas from radar and sonar processing to image processing and communications processing. One of the main areas of work in this phase will be in the area of embedded radar processing on small airborne platforms,” says Peter Rogina, President and CEO of WorldScape, Inc. “The level of raw performance that we have shown has never been demonstrated at these power levels.” The goal of the ATTISS program is to provide a basis for evaluating and meeting the demanding data processing and display requirements for numerous Navy programs. In addition, the company’s Single Instruction Multi-Threaded Array Processing (SIMTAP) technology provides the computing engine for WorldScape’s SceneServer immersive visualization systems. “This contract is an important further validation of the value of the technology and resources that WorldScape Defense is bringing to the government. The systems we are enabling will provide important information and capabilities to field units and senior commanders alike” says Paul Glazar, President of WorldScape Defense. “This complements other Navy and DoD initiatives and has multiple applications in real-time sensor processing, compression/de-compression, encryption/decryption, missile defense systems, future UAV systems, facial recognition, and homeland defense.” WorldScape Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, WorldScape Defense Company, LLC are developing and deploying real world immersive imaging solutions and underlying massively parallel technology. WorldScape Defense is located in Marlton, New Jersey. For more information on WorldScape, Inc. visit www.wscapeinc.com and for investor information, please contact Peter Rogina at 732-742-6001. |
