Applications
CamArray Based on the WorldScape Sensor Processing Platform, CamArray is a revolutionary product that enables 10 high resolution, 30 frame per second cameras (sensors) to be simultaneously operated, processed, and stored onto solid state media. The CamArray architecture leverages the strengths of the SIMTAP technology to provide compression (or other processing) per channel as well as cross-channel processing capabilities. The inherent scalability of the architecture allows more SIMTAP processors to be added to meet a wide variety of processing challenges. Camera arrays have come into mainstream application in movie and television special effects shots. There have been numerous other attempts at creating integrated arrays of cameras for applications ranging from video conferencing to 3D scene capture.
WorldScape’s CamArray product will enable flexible array configurations and unprecedented ease-of-use across a wide range of applications.
SceneServer WorldScape’s patented SceneServer image processing platform utilizes the SIMTAP technology to deliver visual experiences just like being in another environment. The system enables participants in markets such as maintenance and repair training, law enforcement, medical training and entertainment to meet the growing demand for immersive, photo-realistic content. SceneServer is made up of three components: • Capture Engine CamArray
Both government and private enterprises face the challenges of high training costs, the need to improve training retention and producing effective and compelling immersive media. There is a significant need and demand to reduce costs and improve quality in the creation of immersive experiences for training and entertainment that cannot be met by extending currently available platforms. WorldScape will meet this demand and differentiate itself by delivering superior end-to-end solutions to content providers well in advance of anticipated competition. The SceneServer solution is built upon standard processing components and proprietary algorithms that will perform image compression, interpolation, reformatting, and reconstruction. WorldScape and its partners will supply end-to-end solutions for the capture, production and display of real world environments. The resulting media will provide the user with an appreciation of depth, scale and movement that cannot be achieved with conventional 2D imaging or existing immersive solutions. For producers, these environments are captured, processed, stored and delivered digitally and can thus be easily transmitted, replicated and measured, resulting in significant cost savings and high impact media. Both the return on investment from training and the impact of entertainment content will increase dramatically when WorldScape’s SceneServer platform is employed and experiences are “projected” through this medium. Software Libraries WorldScape is currently developing a VSIPL software library. VSIPL stands for the Vector Signal Image Processing Library. It is an application programming interface (API) defined by an open standard developed by embedded signal and image processing hardware and software vendors, academia, application developers, and government labs. We are enabling solution implementation using off-the-shelf products that offer an order of magnitude higher performance at substantially lower power consumption. We assist our customers to optimize their algorithms to gain performance increases only available through an MPP architecture. The hardware chip architecture offers it a large performance increase over any other COTS products for Signal/Image/Multi-sensor/Hyperspectral processing, Pulse Compression (FFT, IFFT & Complex multiply), Encryption/Decryption and Compression/Decompression. Applications that take advantage of this underlying technology are Sensor Fusion, Radar, Sonar, SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar), missile tracking, complex simulations, image processing and many more that need real-time parallel array processing. |
